You’ll find rainbow trout on the menus of some of the country’s finest restaurants—and in Cheley’s beautiful, spring-fed, well-stocked fishing pond. After catching one, you can keep it, clean it and bring it to the kitchen where your trout will be prepared for dinner that evening. It's a Colorado summer camp fishing experience like no other and is a great way to wind down after more physical activities.
"A good laugh is sunshine in the heart."Trigger Bill
Fishing at summer camp here at Cheley offers the joy of contemplation in a gorgeous natural setting and time for quiet conversation with a good friend. It’s not all about mellow, however. Serious action is required the moment you feel that tug.
"Camp is a place where I can truly be myself and in the process, learn more about myself."Rachel, Cheley camper
Campers participating in the summer camp fishing program are taught how to bait the rod, how to reel in and net, and how to clean and prepare the fish for cooking. We follow catch-and-release guidelines, which allow two trout per outing. Don’t let the solemn nature of the sport fool you. Fishing at summer camp here at Cheley is a great way to get to know your peers and learn one of America's favorite past times.
