Announcing the 2025 CILTs!

By

We are beyond excited to introduce our Campers in Leadership Training for the Summer of 2025! This year, over sixty dedicated campers applied to be part of the CILT program, eager to return to camp after their junior and senior years of high school. It’s truly inspiring to see such enthusiasm and commitment from our Cheley community.

We must acknowledge the challenging reality that not everyone can be selected for the CILT program. While we strive to accept all qualified candidates, we’ve learned that the CILT experience can suffer if we take on too many participants. To maintain the integrity and quality of the program, we cap the number of CILTs per term and unit, ensuring that those chosen have a meaningful and impactful experience.

Our selection process involves careful consideration of votes from fellow campers and counselors, which reflect the community’s support and confidence. These votes are crucial, as they often determine a CILT’s success in the program. We also weigh the experience of the unit’s director and assistant director, the demographics of the unit, and the overall fit of each applicant.

It’s never easy to make these decisions, especially when we’ve had the privilege of watching these campers grow up at Cheley. We know how much each applicant has to offer, and we deeply regret that we cannot accept everyone into the CILT program.

However, it’s important to remember that being a CILT isn’t the only path to a fulfilling summer at Cheley. Year after year, we see campers who weren’t selected for the CILT program return to camp and absolutely thrive. Many of these campers end up having their best summer yet, fully embracing their roles as leaders and positive influences within their units. Their contributions often resonate deeply within the camp community, making a lasting impact on those around them.

The individuals listed below have been chosen based on their extensive involvement at camp, the quality of their applications, the support of their peers and staff, and the recommendations from their directors. We are confident that these exceptional individuals will contribute significantly to the continued success of our camp community in the Summer of 2025!
