Family Camp
Come experience the magic of camp—together. Family Camp is your chance to slow down, unplug, and soak up five days of adventure, laughter, and connection in the Colorado mountains.
Nestled in the heart of Colorado’s Mountain Wonderland, Cheley’s Family Camp gives you a front-row seat to the joy, growth, and fun that make our summers so special. In 1985, after years of requests from campers-turned-parents and families who wanted to share the Cheley Experience with loved ones, we launched Family Camp—and it’s been a favorite ever since.
Family Camp takes place each August, right after our regular summer season ends, at our Trail’s End Ranch location near Glen Haven (just a few miles from Estes Park). The setting is rustic and beautiful, with covered wagon accommodations and a cozy lodge as home base. Whether you’re roasting marshmallows under the stars or watching your kids belt out campfire songs, it’s an experience that sticks with you.

Family Camp fills quickly every year—often within the first hour of enrollment opening on October 1st. If this sounds like your kind of family vacation, we recommend planning ahead.
How It Works
Family Camp is designed for families with children ages six and older. Each family stays in a covered wagon with drawers and hanging space, and larger families can easily be accommodated. Shared bathhouse facilities are just a short walk away.
Trail’s End Ranch features:
- A stunning wood lodge with a stone fireplace and dining hall
- A string of 30 horses
- Archery and riflery ranges
- A bustling craft shop
- A babbling stream that winds through camp
Every day, families choose their own adventure. You might saddle up for a trail ride together, head into Rocky Mountain National Park for a hike, or let the kids stay behind for crafts, riflery, or a counselor-led activity while you explore solo. We offer childcare for campers under eight so everyone gets the most out of their experience. Families sign up for activities two days at a time. On Tuesday evening, you’ll sign up for Wednesday and Thursday, and again on Thursday evening for Friday and Saturday. This allows for a bit of flexibility and a lot of fun.
Evenings bring us all back together for a hearty family-style dinner, followed by campfire—an all-camp favorite filled with laughter, skits, and memories in the making. It’s the perfect end to a perfect day.
