What an incredible summer we’ve had in Lower Chipeta! Each day was an adventure filled with laughter, friendship, and discovery. From the excitement of new programs to the joy of shared experiences, our campers embraced every opportunity to grow and connect with each other. As we navigated hikes, crafts, rides, and more, we forged a close-knit community that made this summer truly special.
Our horseback riding counselors, Kayli Phillips, Ellie Moffitt, Ellie White, and Arielle Geismar, took the girls on many adventures on horseback. The following campers earned their Riding Patch: Dylann Howell, Clara Keffeler, Adeline Rosen, Jordyn Wasescha, Sidney Shanks, Ruby Sparks, and Charlotte Walker.
Our hiking counselors, Lucy Bowman and Taylor Rhea, led day trips in Rocky Mountain National Park to amazing summits and beautiful lakes, with wildlife sightings along the way. The following campers earned their Chipmunk Patch: Emily Cox, Abigayle Davis, Hannah Stacey, Kensington Cozza, and Ruby Sparks.
Brooke Croushore and Lexie Liebert led outcamps where campers cooked outdoors, slept under the stars, and appreciated nature’s beauty. The following campers earned their Outcamping Patch: Emma Cook, Margaret Essin, Mabel Grimsley, Caroline Watson, Caroline Boyle, Zia Duffy, Witten Fell, and Holly Harvison.
Sports counselors Ava Goldson and Mia Bryant led many fun games and activities. Programs included archery, soccer, capture the flag, climbing, croquet, lacrosse, badminton, disc golf, basketball, Knock Out, King of the Court, gaga ball, foosball, and stand-up paddle boarding.
Also within our sports program were our climbing activities, where campers could work and hone their climbing skills on the climbing wall and technical climbing on Christmas Tree Rock. The following campers earned their Spider Patch: Caddy Armstrong, Alex Brainerd, Elodie Brown, Emma Cook, Olivia Cook, Scout Gontram, Mabel Grimsley, Linden Holsted, Rhyleigh Howell, Clara Hull, Jade Mathews, Sitara Minero, Eliza Vella, Katie Wallace, Caroline Watson, Aria Whitcomb, Ellie Bernstein, Zia Duffy, Emma Goldberg, Katherine Hurley, Diana Oberle, Campbell Olsen, and Quill Randle.

Crafts counselors Max Guthrie and Francesca Pezza inspired creativity through various art projects, and campfire counselor Els Rutledge brought everyone together at the end of each day with unit campfires.
The following campers earned their Circle of Stars patch: Lexington Bardy, Mia Campbell, Emma Greene, Mabel Grimsley, Clara Hull, Alice Leighton, Ella McCormick, Ellison Mossy, Caitlin Prystie, Ilsley Trainer, Jill Trendler, Eliza Vella, Caroline Watson, Aria Whitcomb, Georgia Wood, Helen Bell, Susanna Caffell, Julia Fong, Mallory Fowler, Lua Garate Muñoz, Saielle Hay, Charlotte Hirsch, Phoebe Holmes, Katherine Hurley, Lily Hurst, Kira Kisgen, Charlotte Kratzer, Wilhelmina Kratzer, Emma Mellott, Stella Mugge, Ella Sorenson, Danika Sugich, and Alexa Sugich Herrera. To earn this, you had to be well-rounded and open-minded. These adventurous girls had to meet specific requirements in riding, hiking, outcamping, riflery, crafts, climbing, and sports.
In addition to the values emphasized in each program area, Lower Chipeta embraced a shared set of principles known as the Code of Living. Each term, campers collaboratively selected the qualities they believed were essential for living, playing, and working together in harmony. Campers chose Friendship, Bravery, Optimism, Creativity, and Empathy as some of the words on their Code. These qualities became the foundation of our community, and everyone strived to uphold them. At the end of each term, several campers were honored with the Silver Coup, the highest recognition in Lower Chipeta, for their outstanding embodiment of the Code as recognized by their peers and staff. As we say goodbye to another unforgettable summer, we reflect on the amazing journey our Lower Chipeta campers have had. Their growth, camaraderie, and the bonds they’ve built here will serve as a strong foundation for their future. The memories they’ve created and the values they’ve embraced will stay with them long after they leave camp.
We look forward to welcoming them back next year, eager to continue the adventure and see all that they will achieve. Until then, we’ll cherish the moments we shared and the spirit of Lower Chipeta that will always remain in our hearts.
